Maxwell Tsai, an experienced Mac programmer, who tested more than 500 apps, explains his need of a download manager and describes how he uses Folx by Eltima.

Using Folx in programming
Maxwell Tsai is a tough computer geek. He was elected number one in HTML in his middle school. He knows almost every application in the World Wide Web and has over 500 apps installed on his MacBook (and beta tested more than 40 apps).
Alex Taylor: What challenges made you search for the software of this kind?
Maxwell Tsai: I download at least 1 application every day. I download at least 15 applications every week. I download an operating system every two months. I have over 500 applications on my Macbook. I am a beta tester for over 40 applications. If I don’t get a download manager, I have to stick with the one Chrome has. I don’t like that one. If I use the one Chrome has and my connection speed accidently stopped or went to 0.0kb/s, I will end up having to restart. It will really make me mad especially if I am of 27mb or higher section. I had enough of it and went to look for a download manager. Download managers are really important to me because if I don’t have them, I will need to use the bad download manager of Chrome or Safari.
Alex Taylor: How did you get to know about Folx by Eltima Software?
Maxwell Tsai: I went to Google and searched every keyword I know about download managers for Mac. (Actually, my Googling technique improved a lot after looking for a download manager) I looked through many webpages. I tried many download managers out. I came to Folx and chatted with Support(Andrew Avdus). He introduced me to Folx and tried it out. Later on, I think that the strands were bad so I went away for a few months. I registered with Speed Download and liked it at first place. It was fast at first but as I said, I at least get an application a day, but then it started begin to slow down. The “.partial” file really takes up many spaces by Speed Download. I decided to come back to Folx. Then Travis introduced to me about Folx. He persuaded me again. I tried the beta and it was really AWESOME!!! I have to thank Travis and Andrew for introducing me. I also thank the developers for letting Folx out for beta. Folx is just awesome.
Alex Taylor: Did you try other products for the same task before choosing Eltima solution? Why did you prefer our product?
Maxwell Tsai: I tried out iGetter, Leech, Speed Download before. iGetter’s user interface wasn’t that beautiful and it only allowed two strands. Leech looked cute but when I was downloading the very sensitive PDF file (if the connection speed is to 0.0kb/s, it is corrupted) and it was corrupted. I wasted 15 minutes on that file. Speed Download was fast at first and the user interface was good but the speed isn’t as fast as Folx 2.
Alex Taylor: Please, describe how you are using our product now.
Maxwell Tsai: I really have to thank Andrew and Travis for introducing it. I am trying the beta out right now. The 10 strands idea is just what makes Folx 80% better than other download managers. It is also a torrent manager. When I was using Speed Download, I had to get BitTorrent to get a torrent file but later on, Folx solved the problem. The developers are awesome. If anyone of you that is reading this is using another download manager, I have to tell you, try Folx 2. It is really awesome. I am a software geek and Folx is just the best Mac download manager out there in the World Wide Web. Whichever download manager that wants to beat Folx is just have to beat its 10 strand record first.
Alex Taylor: How did you benefit from using Eltima solution?
Maxwell Tsai: After using Folx, I uninstalled Speed Download and BitTorrent from my Mac. My friend before asked me why I got two download managers (one for bit torrent and other is Speed Download) for my Mac. He challenged me to find one that has both of them. If I actually find it, he will call me a computer geek. I found it. Folx. I download applications faster. Folx can download a 40mb file within 36 minutes on my network which is only 10-20kb/s. I feel like I got the treasure. I can download more than one application everyday. Download speed really increased 6 times faster after I got Folx.
